Does this work without OCR — by hand?
Yes. OCR is optional. You can type any bill in manually and the app handles the rest the same way.
How does Quick scan work?
Quick scan reads the receipt on your device using Apple Vision on iPhone. It's instant, free and unlimited, and works best on clean printed receipts. If it misreads, fix the line by hand or tap Help us improve.
Are my receipts uploaded anywhere?
Quick scan and manual entry run on your device. On Pro, receipt photos are uploaded to our private storage when you save a bill, and any photo you send us in scan feedback goes there too. Pro users who turn on cross-device sync also upload their bills so they follow them across iPhone and iPad.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Free use is fully anonymous — no email, no password, no account. You only sign in when you want cross-device sync or to claim Pro on a new phone. Optional email sign-in for cross-device sync.
How does sign-in actually work?
Tap Sign in, type your email, get a 6-digit code, type it back. That's it. No password to remember, no "are you a robot", no "verify your account on three more devices". The code expires in 10 minutes; new code on demand. We never share your email with anyone.
How do you split tax and tip?
Proportionally. If your share is 30% of the subtotal, you pay 30% of the tax and 30% of the tip — not a 4-way equal split that punishes the friend who had a salad.
Can I cancel Pro any time?
Yes. Manage it in your App Store subscriptions. Cancel any time and you'll keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
What devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad. iOS 14+. Your bills live on your device — Pro and Pro+ add a cloud snapshot, stored securely.
Can I use SplitEasy from a partner restaurant?
Yes. Restaurants on the Posz POS (and any other POS that integrates with our public partner API) can print a SplitEasy QR right on the receipt. Scan it, the bill auto-fills with line items, you assign + split, send. No retyping. Partner API docs →
