Quick scan and manual entry stay 100% on your device — nothing leaves your phone. AI scan sends just the receipt photo to our parser, which returns the structured items and discards the image after parsing. Pro users who opt into cross-device sync also upload an encrypted snapshot of their bills so they follow them across iPhone, iPad and Android.
No. Free use is fully anonymous — no email, no password, no account. You only sign in when you want cross-device sync or to claim Pro on a new phone. Sign-in is a one-tap code: email on iOS, email or WhatsApp on Android — no passwords, no third-party apps required.
Tap Sign in, type your email (or phone on Android), get a 6-digit code, type it back. That's it. No password to remember, no "are you a robot", no "verify your account on three more devices". The code expires in 10 minutes; new code on demand. We never share the email or phone with anyone.
Proportionally. If your share is 30% of the subtotal, you pay 30% of the tax and 30% of the tip — not a 4-way equal split that punishes the friend who had a salad.
You can keep splitting bills with quick scan or manual entry — those are unlimited on every plan. The AI scan button just shows "0 left" until next month, or you can upgrade to Pro (4/month) or Pro+ (unlimited) any time.
